Cookie notice

Which cookies Bomleys sets, what each one is for, and how to switch the optional ones on or off.

Analytics cookies are your choice.

What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser. Bomleys uses a few that the site cannot work without, and two analytics services that set cookies only after you agree.

Which cookies are essential?

These are always set, because the site breaks without them:

  • Session: keeps you signed in while you move between pages.
  • XSRF-TOKEN: proves a form was submitted from Bomleys and not from another site.
  • analytics_consent: remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics, for 12 months.
  • appearance and sidebar_state: remember light or dark mode and whether the dashboard menu is open.
  • __cf_bm: set by Cloudflare, our network provider, to tell people from automated traffic.

Which cookies are optional?

Microsoft Clarity and Google Analytics set cookies to recognise a return visit and group page views into one session. Neither loads until you choose “Accept”. If you decline, no analytics cookie is set and the site works the same. The privacy notice lists what each service records and what we never send.

How do I change my choice?

Use the two buttons at the top of this page at any time. You can also clear cookies for bomleys.com in your browser settings, and the consent banner will ask again on your next visit.
