Privacy notice

Bomleys is a property management platform for the Kenyan market, operated from Winma Court, Room A5, Ongata Rongai, Kajiado County. When you use Bomleys we act as the data controller for the personal data described on this page.

We use two third-party analytics services to understand how people use Bomleys, so that we can make it work better.

Microsoft Clarity records how pages are used — clicks, scrolling and navigation — and produces anonymised session replays and heatmaps. Clarity is configured in strict masking mode, so all text on the page is masked before it leaves your device. Names, phone numbers, ID numbers, rent amounts and document contents are never captured in a recording. Microsoft Corporation acts as our data processor. See privacy.microsoft.com.

Google Analytics records which pages are visited, which property searches are run, and general device and location information — city level, derived from your IP address. Google LLC acts as our data processor. See policies.google.com/privacy.

We do not send your name, email address, phone number, national ID number, or any document you upload, to either service.

Where a signed-in person's activity is measured, they are identified only by a random internal identifier that means nothing outside Bomleys. Web addresses are stripped of security tokens before being recorded, and pages that carry a token in their address — password resets, email verification, account claim links — are not measured at all.

Both services set cookies on your device to recognise return visits and to group page views into a single session. These are analytics cookies, not advertising cookies. We do not use either service for advertising or ad targeting, and we do not sell your data.

Analytics data is retained for 14 months and then deleted automatically. Data you give us directly — your account, your lease, your payment records — is kept for as long as your account is active and for as long afterwards as Kenyan tax and tenancy law requires us to.

Under the Data Protection Act, 2019 you may ask us to confirm what personal data we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to object to this processing. Write to [email protected] and we will respond within the statutory period.

If you are not satisfied with our response you may complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner.

Analytics only run on this device if you allowed them, and you can change that at any time using the buttons at the top of this page. Declining takes effect immediately.

You can also opt out of Google Analytics across every site you visit using Google's browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

You can opt out of Microsoft Clarity by enabling "Do Not Track" in your browser settings.

Opting out of either service does not affect your use of Bomleys in any way.
